Google Data Reveal Florida Hottest Property Market
Published: 6/27/2009
Analysis conducted on publicly available data from Google (the internet’s most popular search engine) reveals that Florida is the hottest property related search in English on the web.
Searches for property in the US hold the first three places in the chart, with California and New York following behind Florida as the most popular searches.
London has the largest number of property searches outside of the US – and Singapore, Vancouver, and Washington also make the top ten.
Based on data from Google, the top five property searches are:
1. Florida
2. California
3. New York
4. London
5. Dubai
Searches for property in Florida, California and New York are carried out primarily within the US, and searches for property in London are carried out primarily within the UK.
Dubai is the search with the widest international audience, with a high number of searches coming worldwide from United Kingdom, North America, India, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
France is the most popular overseas search for UK internet users, with Spain following shortly behind.
The data shows definite trends although it is extremely difficult to analyze. The domination of US based property searches may be attributed to the higher number of internet users in US. The analysis reflects searches made in English only, and the data may not be 100% accurate.
